What patients need to know about Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Injections?

  1. The purpose of this treatment is to add a knee lube or replace unhealthy knee lube.

  2. This injection has no excessive bleeding because it is not a form of surgery.

  3. HA is a synthetic replacement lubricant that is safe & has the same functionality as the original knee lubricant.

  4. HA does not reduce knee pain directly, but HA preserves the knee joint & gradually reduces pain in the knee joint.

  5. This injection can be done by daycare only.

  6. After the injection the patient can continue stepping, walking & doing daily activities.
