SHAH ALAM – Shah Alam Specialist Hospital (SALAM) made a standout appearance at the weekend’s Karnival Siang Malam, capturing the crowd’s attention with affordable maternity packages and expert consultations for back and joint pain.

As the sole healthcare provider at the event on Saturday July 26, SALAM drew a continuous stream of visitors to its booth from morning until evening.

Ahmad Ramli Maryakon, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at SALAM, said the hospital’s presence aimed to engage directly with the community and challenge the perception that private healthcare is only accessible to the affluent.

“At SALAM Shah Alam, we focus on delivering quality, comfort, and affordability. As a multidisciplinary private hospital with 22 years of experience, we offer services in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Orthopaedics

“With the rising cost of living, we understand that affordability matters more than ever. While many private hospitals cater to premium markets, SALAM is committed to delivering trusted, high-quality care that everyday families can afford. We want the public to see that private healthcare can be both excellent and accessible,” he told Sinar Daily.

One of the highlights of the event was SALAM’s maternity package, priced from just RM2,799, which attracted significant attention.

The term ‘private hospital’ often carries the assumption of high costs. But with packages like our RM2,799 maternity offer, we aim to debunk that myth and prove that SALAM Hospital is within reach for many families,” Ahmad Ramli explained.

Orthopaedics was another major draw, particularly consultations for back and joint pain — a common issue among both office and factory workers. We spoke with many individuals who spend long hours seated at desks or engaged in physically demanding work, both of which contribute to musculoskeletal issues,” he said.

They were eager to know more on non-major surgical options, such as non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments with shorter recovery times — all of which are available at SALAM.

Ahmad Ramli also underscored the hospital’s emphasis on affordable preventive healthcare. Good health is the foundation of a productive and fulfilling life. Regular health screenings are essential at every age — not just after 40. We encourage everyone to get screened at least once a year,” he said.

SALAM, the only healthcare provider at the event on Saturday, attracted a steady stream of visitors to its booth from morning until evening.

Visitors welcomed SALAM’s initiative. Suhailah, 36, shared that she found the booth both informative and reassuring.

It’s encouraging to see a private hospital providing affordable options and educating the public. This kind of outreach builds trust within the community,” she said.

Amirul, 32, an administrative executive, was equally impressed.

I was surprised by how affordable the packages were. For a private hospital, that’s rare. It’s good to know that quality care doesn’t always come with a hefty price tag,” he said.

The Karnival Siang Malam, held from July 25 to 27, drew crowds from Shah Alam and throughout the Klang Valley. SALAM Shah Alam’s booth stood out for its meaningful engagement, professional consultations, and strong commitment to making private healthcare truly accessible.
